LKCS Wins Two WebAwards

LKCS is proud to announce their being honored with two prestigious awards. WebAwards is an annual website award competition that names the best Web sites in 96 industries. The Web Marketing Association recently awarded LKCS’ web development team two of their prestigious “Standard of Excellence” awards in the Credit Union category of their WebAwards competition.

At a document strategy conference today, I attended a presentation on how a large insurance company reformatted their pension statements. The presenters described their research and design process as well as the technical and production issues that they tackled along the way. Their in-house IT staff spent 4,000 hours on preparing their statement data for the transformation.

The Arrival of the IMB

As all mailers nationwide implement the Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) by May 2011, it will be interesting to see if companies take advantage of the potential benefits – or if the entire IMB program will be a wasted effort. Designed as a cost-saving measure for the USPS, the IMB does have some potential benefits for LKCS clients.

LKCS has recently received numerous design awards over the past few weeks from two different affiliations, Diamond Awards and Communicator Awards. We are extremely happy for our clients and proud of our design team to be recognized for their talents. It is very rewarding for LKCS to be honored by such reputable organizations within our industry.

Mobile is Taking Over the Web

Between iPhones, Blackberries, and Droids, mobile phones are clearly not just phones any more. Some staggering statistics have been published recently. As of December 2009, 21% of U.S. wireless subscribers had a smartphone, compared to 14% at the end of 2008. According to Nielsen, U.S. smartphone penetration will exceed 50% in 2011. What does this mean for marketers?

It is changing how people form their opinions. And it is changing how people interact with the companies they like. There are thousands of banks and credit unions with Facebook pages. Some “get it” and remain social, while some don’t.
