We at LKCS are deeply saddened to share the passing of our founder, Norbert “Norb” Dudek, who peacefully left us on August 28, 2025, at the age of 92.

Norb’s story is one of vision, perseverance, and community spirit. In 1961, with a $1,500 loan from a local credit union, he founded Letterkraft Printers in the basement of his home. What began as a small, one-man print shop grew, through his entrepreneurial drive, generosity, and enduring commitment to service, into the thriving company we proudly carry forward today as LKCS. His work set the foundation for the organization we have become, and his example continues to inspire everything we do.

Beyond his role as a business leader, Norb was a man of remarkable character and service. A devoted Rotarian, he served as president of the LaSalle Rotary Club in 1967–68, earned Rotarian of the Year honors during the Gulf War, and was named a Paul Harris Fellow. He volunteered as a Lifeline pilot, flying patients to St. Jude’s and the Mayo Clinic, and worked to support economic development in the Illinois Valley by transporting business leaders to and from the region. His commitment to others extended far beyond his company’s doors.
Norb lived a rich and full personal life. He was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus, a dedicated advocate for workers as a Teamster, and an active member of the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors. He loved flying, boating, fishing, traveling to all 50 states and places across the world. He spent winters in Mesa, Arizona with his beloved wife, Betty. Together, they shared 70 years of marriage and built a family that includes children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who continue to carry on their values and traditions.

For all who knew him, Norb will be remembered for his warmth, humor, adventurous spirit, and unwavering love of people. He was a mentor to many, a trusted friend to his community, and a source of inspiration for generations of LKCS employees.
We extend our deepest condolences to Betty, their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. It is both a responsibility and an honor for us at LKCS to continue the legacy he built, which is a legacy proudly upheld by his children today.
