Bank of Pontiac (https://www.bankofpontiac.com) has recently launched a new and improved website. The website offers a number of enhancements and additions that that improve functionality for all site visitors.
The Bank of Pontiac became aware that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) website guidelines have become a target for litigation against financial institutions and needed to update their website to meet these guidelines. Therefore, the bank’s marketing team was extremely concerned with making sure the site was ADA compliant and at the same time wanted to refresh the website that included a complete overhaul.
LKCS (http://www.lk-cs.com), a leading financial marketing agency was engaged to provide the best online experience possible for Bank of Pontiac customers. LKCS was tasked to design a much cleaner look, improve brand identity, provide more intuitive navigation, ensure a responsive design, and implement a range of new financial tools. Most importantly, LKCS needed to build the site to meet Web Content Accessibility 2.0/AA Guidelines.
These accessibility guidelines ensure that web sites provide equal access to people with disabilities. Web site programming needs to be properly handled to be compatible with screen readers and other assistive devices. By following these guidelines, web sites are better for all users as many of the guidelines focus on having user-friendly design and navigation, easy to understand content, and proper use of color.
LKCS took on this challenge and designed a brand new website for the bank that exceeded their goals by addressing several other issues including ongoing site maintenance and ease of use. BOP staff now have the ability to modify all website content, text, images, add or delete pages, automatically track content changes, and improve search engine optimization with ease and without any previous programming knowledge. The new website also provides a better mobile experience. LKCS integrated a responsive web design that allows mobile users to use the new website from any phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer. The site will automatically reformat web content to adjust appropriately to any device’s screen resolution.
